How to still show up for the Black Lives Matter Movement

After my 18 month hiatus from writing on this blog, I am back to provide resources on how to still support the BLM movement wherever you are in the world. In this post I will provide templates for emails which you can send to the relevant recipients such as Mayors, District Attorneys and Chiefs of Police.

At the time of writing, the information below is the current status of each case.

BREONNA TAYLOR

Still none of the officers that murdered Breonna have been arrested or charged.

  2. I have written a template for anyione to send to the addresses below:

    • greg.fischer@louisvilleky.gov
    • robert.schroeder@louisvilleky.gov

SUBJECT: Justice for Breonna Taylor

Good day,

I am writing to demand for Justice for Breonna Taylor. On March 13 2020 officers Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankinson and Myles Cosgrove executed a no-knock search warrant on Breonna Taylor’ s home and opened fire, murdering her.

I demand that all the police officers involved in the murder of Breonna are to be fired immediately with their pensions removed and for the District Attorney to file the appropriate charges and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.

I also demand that all necessary information is provided to a to a local, independent civilian community police accountability council and for a policy for transparent investigation process is created due to law enforcement misconduct.

In solidarity,

SUBJECT: Justice for Elijah McClain

Good day,

I am writing to demand for Justice for Elijah McClain. On August 24 2019 three officers violently arresting him using a catorid hold. After his arrest, when the paramedics arrived they administered a dose of Ketamine to the already unconscious Elijah to “sedate” him. He was pronounced dead August 27th, 2019. This is inhumane, unacceptable, and representative of the deep rooted racism and police brutality within the community.

I demand that all the police officers involved in the shooting are to be fired immediately with their pensions removed and for the District Attorney to file the appropriate charges and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.

In solidarity,

SUBJECT: Justice for Jacob Blake

Good day,

I am writing to demand for Justice for Jacob Blake. On August 23 2020 officer Rusten Sheskey shot him at point blank range 7 times in the back. He is currently hospitalised due to the injuries from the shooting and is handcuffed to the bed.
